Green River Fly Fishing
A Combination of Great Fly Fishing and Scenery
No other river in the entire world is like the Green River at Flaming Gorge. The Green offers extremely high numbers of quality of trout and the beauty of a pine-rimmed red-rock gorge, crystal clear waters, and abundant wildlife. This incredible river needs to be on your list of places to fly fish before you die. The food rich waters that flow from Flaming Gorge Dam support more trout per mile than virtually any other river in the world.
A Food Rich Trout Environment
The Green River supports an incredible mass of aquatic invertebrates like scuds, midges, mayflies, caddis flies, and aquatic worms. These ample food sources keep the trout healthy and plentiful. The Green River has also become famous with fly fishers looking to land trophy browns, rainbows, and a few cutthroat trout on large dry flies like cicadas. The June cicada fishing phenomenon that the Green is so famous for is unlike any other in the world. It happens nearly every year and brings the otherwise discerning fish cruising to the surface for a big meal. It is truly an experience not to be missed.
